we are using vsd 1.4.6, rh7.0 - our prblem is: qpopper can't handle requests with apop Normally an: '-ERR Unknown command: "apop"' is produced from a popper (e.g. on FreeBSD), so that the client knows that it should use simple text passwords for authentication. With our freevsd and qpopper ALL access from e.g. Mac/Outlook fails. Some clients can't change the APOP/Simple text authentication manually and if the server sends no rfc compatible information all access fails. So: how to modify qpopper to send valid answers, so that the client will use normal auth. Many thanks in advance James T.
