If you wish to use the freeVSD DNS functionality (mod_bind), then the
nameserver entries need to be the name of the nameservers that are to be
used, otherwise, just the IPs of the existing nameservers. If you wish
to use the mod_bind functionality, the nameservers will need to have
freeVSD installed on them. If you wish to use mod_bind but don't want to
touch your existing servers I would recommend that you install bind on
the box you are using to test freeVSD, set it up as a nameserver, and
use the name of this test box as tha name server entries.

The IP for the virtual server is set by the vs_create command. If the vs
is to be seen by the outside world, it needs to be one of the IPs
allocated to you, otherwise a free ip that is visible to the machine.

Could be one of numerous things, mainly that vsd itself has not closed
the connection with vsdadm, before vsdadm's timeout limit.

Yes, the most important thing is that the hostname of the box is set
correctly, this involves the entry in /etc/sysconfig/network, and the
first entry in /etc/hosts (for the hosts IP) match.
