Hi Tom, have you tried using the vi command? It's an application i'm using for all my editing tasks and is probably installed on any Unix system there is. Just start a telnet session and open the ***.key and ***.crt files with vi and copy it's contents to a textfile on your own pc and name the file corresponding the original filename. Hope this helps. Another idea is to check the redhat ftp site for some rpm 6.2 compatible ftp packages.

Whats the recommended way to get the .crt and .key files off this server and onto a windows client for use with the win32 VSDControl app. is there a rpm for 6.2 that includes all the dependencies and whathaveyou to get ftp up and running, as what I would normally do is stick the cd back in and chuck on all the packages that are needed to run these utilities, but unfortunately I'm 30 miles away and its friday.
