Hi all,

Is mod_bind in a production state? Because I am having a load of
problems with it. Perhaps its just me being thick...? Any help would
be greatly appreciated - cheers.....

---------------------------
When I add a domain 'to' a VS, it seems that the correct zone files are being
created...

/var/named/virtual/[vsname]/named.conf
/var/named/virtual/[vsname]/b/named.conf
/var/named/virtual/[vsname]/b/db.benkennish.co.uk

But for some reason, /var/named.conf is not including
/var/named/virtual/[vsname]/named.conf. I have already done "vsdadm
bind_addvs" but /var/named.conf is still blank!

Can I also clarify a few things?....

a) Is it the FQDN of the primary and secondary that is required in
vsd.conf under "PrimaryNS" and "SecondaryNS" in the <Global> section?

b) What are the "PrimaryNS" and "SecondaryNS" directives in the
<VirtualServer host.server.fqdn> section for?

-----------------------
When I did vsdadm "bind_deletevs" .... the whole VS was deleted!!

vsdadm decsription....
bind_deletevs - Delete **domains** belonging to a virtual server

Well I did "vsdadm bind_deletevs host.server.fqdn vsname" and to my
horror, /home/vsd/vs/todd was moved to /var/named/terminated-accounts/
and the VirtualServer entry removed from vsd.conf!!

I only wanted to delete the domains on the name server belonging to
this VS! "vsdadm bind_restorevs" restored the VS back to /home/vsd/vs
but with vsd.conf having messed up values (eg "StartUID 0" "Users 0")

This issue looks similar to that discussed here...
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg01839.html
... but this says that the issue has been resolved in 1.4.10-1 (and
that's what Im using!) Has this bug crept back into CVS somehow?

-----------------------

# vsdadm bind_addvs ?
syntax: bind_addvs <ns> <vs> <ip> <max domains> [<pri ns>] [
]

Im a bit puzzled as to the meaning of some of these args...

<ns> = allow VS to add to this nameserver
<vs> = name of VS that is allowed to add domains to ns
<ip> = ?????
<max domains> = maximum number of domains this VS is allowed to have
<pri ns> = ????
= ????

-----------------------

Sorry about the huge email! :)

Thanks in advance,
