Hi Bill, Ahhh,
When I ran httpd for the first time, I got the error that I couldn't write to the errorlog in /home/web/log, what I did was chown web.admin it and chmod rw_rw_r__ errorlog. That removed the error. When I look inside I have the "couldn't open mime.types file error", but the error occurred at a different time?? >From when I'm starting the VS (vsboot). Does this make sense?? TIA Alan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Bill Brigden Sent: 17 September 2002 10:21 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Httpd: Connection Refused I suggest you check the error log for apache, which may be in /var/log/httpd/ (or /home/web/log which is from early freevsd installs - which still may be used!) The error log may give clues as to what is happening. Bill. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Blakey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2002 9:58 AM Subject: Httpd: Connection Refused Hi, I have just installed freevsd on a RH7.2 Platform using all FAQs and INSTALL's as I could find. I have used the 7.2 Patched RPMS as described on the FAQ on fubra.com. Everything looks ok. I have all Daemons working apart from the apache (HTTPD) Daemon. If I type my Domain or IP address in a web browser. My RH7.2 machine, when in console mode gives a: cannot connect(): Connenction Refused Error And the browser gives a Error Page - Page Cannot be found (IE6) Or Connection broken by server (Netscape) When I type ps -ax for a list of processes I get all Daemons and the 2 vsdredirect daemons working for ports 80, 443. When I type in httpd start, nothing happens, and still no httpd daemon. When I type httpd -t I get the Syntax OK message. So I'm assuming that apache (httpd) can run ok. Has anyone came across this error before and if they have I would be grateful if they could help me out?
