The update-patches target is designed to make your life
easier, not more difficult. However, keep the following
in mind when creating patches:

Up until now, you had to create (and test) them manually.
If you use this target, you'll have them at least created
(and updated) automatically and pretty reliably.

However, the form of patches which is actually superior
is having thematic patches patching multiple files mul-
tiple times, like 010-fix-build.patch, 020-add-feature1.patch,
030-add-feature2.patch, etc.

Thus it is not recommended to rush over all packages etc.
now with this new feature, because for example the kernel
patches are probably not maintained inside the freewrt
tree and thusly updating them is easier if they're kept
in the current thematic theme.

On the other hand, this is probably overkill for most of
the simple changes we have in package/ so... feel free to
play with it (and remind to not patch files into existence).

when God enlightens him. Or only God invents algorithms, we merely copy them.

existence. -- Coywolf Qi Hunt
