This is missing all the foo_build directories, at least.
I suggest putting everything _generated_ into e.g. build/
so that we have
build/
bin/
tools/
toolchain_mipsel/
pkgs_mipsel/ (the former build_mipsel)
lbin/
staging_dir_mipsel/
Then, we could merge lbin and staging_dir_mipsel.
Furthermore I'd like to have staging_dir_mipsel/usr to be a
symlink to '.' (so that e.g. staging_dir_mipsel/usr/bin
is the same as staging_dir_mipsel/bin) for better oversight.
