Yes, that's exactly our intention! Marcus and I have sent many patches
to upstream or integrate then if they are maintained outside. That's one
principle of FreeWRT!

I see that's no one besides wbx and tg (the initiators) feels confident
about the bsd style of patch management. I suggest we should simply not
use it.
