just one german word for that: traurig! I am not sure if you realize what a community project is about, thorsten. But I can tell you what it is not about. it is not about shrugging with the shoulders and justing doing stuff even if it is obvious that everbody else thinks that is a bad idea and doesn't agree. and what about waldemar? waldemar is the project leader and of course his opinion is very important, but why don't you understand that more or less the whole developer community should be at least as important as the project leaders opinion and that maybe not for every conflict waldemar must be called. I think waldemar wants to set the goals for the project and doesn't want to be the referee in every small disagreement between developers. > ENOARGUMENT... > > So please wbx, what is your statement regarding this topic? > I'm sure we find some volonteers for "fixing" it, if the consens is to > have the initscripts executable. freewrt is for the community of users and developers that expects a "minimal linux adk/distro for their router". So we should try to stay as close as we can to the normal linux standards. I think (but I am not sure) that the LSB also says that init.d scripts should be executable. Everything that doesn't work like on a normal linux box is causing a lot of headache to freewrt newbies, even if they have a lot linux experience already. That's my opinion and I will not get tired to repeat that, because a freewrt system that nobody uses is not good for anybody. besides that, freewrt 1.1 should get released this year in autumn and we should not start to change things that has proved satisfactory already. sorry, waldemar? :) --Ralph _______________________________________________ freewrt-developers mailing list [email protected] https://www.freewrt.org/lists/listinfo/freewrt-developers
