Do I have to open a ticket for this? Maybe one of the developers can comment.
Thanks Jan 2007/1/29, Jan Schäfer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Hi everyone, on behalf of all the USB HDD users out there (I know it's not only me :-), I hereby ask for a port of the debian "scsitools" package [1] to FreeWRT. The goal is to be able to manage USB disks, which are handled like SCSI disks in Linux. Especially the spin down feature is of interest here. One would be able to save power and to go easy on seldom-used external drives. A quick search in *WRT-related forums (keywords: USB, idle, hdparm, etc.) shows that a lot of people would like to be able to spin down their USB-attached HDDs after a period of inactivity. This feature would definitely enhance FreeWRT. Why the scsitools package? [2] shows that it does the job for OpenWRT (Kamikaze)-based devices. Anyone else here interested in this? Cheers, Jan [1] http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/scsitools.html [2] http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=37514
