This is a Perl thing... the "gmtime" and "localtime" routines calculate two
digit year dates by subtracting 1900 from the four digit year date.

Has anyone else seen the date 'Jan 100' much in the last coupla days?
The 'frendz' mail doesn't do it, but other stuff coming from marsbard
does. And I have seen it elsewhere.

But my toaster is still working.
