What's this javascript Y2K bug then? Mistakenly using getYear as opposed
to getFullYear? Or something else?

Not as amusing or sexy (to professional programmers) as the javascript
bug, but potentially more harmful, especially if you're life is
depending
on one of these machines...

ADVICE OF ACTION TO BE TAKEN TO IDENTIFY AND REMEDY Y2K PROBLEM

EQUIPMENT AFFECTED: Gambro AK100/AK200 Dialysers

To: Country Coordinator/Country Health Sector Coordinator

Problems have been reported to the UK Medical Device Agency regarding
the
above Gambro Dialysers. See Action Notice Ref: Y2K006, 2nd January 2000.
Erroneous date and time displays are causing the particular equipment to
malfunction in carrying out its auto-disinfect function. Indications are
that the fault can be corrected by resetting the date and time through
the
service mode.

Further information and guidance can be obtained from the UK MDA
Website:

Please e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with details of numbers of equipment
affected
and possible impact on health care.

Subject: FDA Y2K Update
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

January 3, 2000 - 2:00pm EST - Update Regarding the Year 2000
Transition.

The Medical Devices Agency of the United Kingdom recently issued a Y2K
Special Issue Advice Notice regarding Gambro AK100 and AK200
hemodialysis
units. According to the Advice Notice, the device can display erroneous
date
and time, which may result in the failure of the timed auto-disinfect
cycle.
Using a manual disinfection cycle or resetting the date and time will
allow
for correct use of the device.

The FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health has looked into
this
report and discussed this problem with the manufacturer. The
manufacturer
has determined that these units were not sold in the United States.

The Center is aware of several medical device incidents from around the
world. To the best of our knowledge, all incidents have been minor, have
primarily involved date display and printing problems, and have not
adversely affected patient safety. We will continue our surveillance and
share any significant information with the healthcare community from the
web
site.
