The problem to which Dag refers is this.

FWIW, I unpacked the rpm and installed from the cpio file. There appears to be a problem with two of the locale files.

And believe me I'm very frustrated about this problem, especially since the (random) corruption (although not as grave as recently) has been going on since more than 6 months without resolution/feedback and I cannot do anything about it.
The randomness makes it impossible to fix it before someone is impacted. I have to wait for someone to report it and then Matthias can fix it on a case by case basis :(
