audacity fun and games

Hi,

FC4 system, on x86_64
I'm having trouble getting audacity installed ...

audacity seems to require wxgtk = 2.4
whereas i have 2.6 installed, for other apps

extras seems to have a wxgtk package, and a wxgtk2 package
both the same version ... doesn't make much sense

meanwhile the freshrpms wxgtk package which i have installed, doesn't even have the
libwx_gtk2-2.6.so.0 lib i would have just linked to libwx_gtk2-2.4.so.0 to try and fudge it into working

what are my options ?? install a bunch of dependencies and try to recompile audacity with 2.6 ?
