Ali Minai gave an interesting introduction to "biomorphic engineering" during the pedagogical talk day last Sunday here at the NECSI conference. http://www.necsi.org/community/wiki/index.php/ICCS06/Ali_Minai Among many interesting things, he talked about how engineering consisted of design, production and operation, and that biomorphic engineering tended to focus only on the last, operation, a mistake in his view.
