As many folks know, John Casti's writings tend to be fairly deep math/ 
complexity or "public science writing" as popularizations are  
starting to be called.

This is a new form of fiction (at least to me!) that I hope  
continues: scientific fiction within a reasonably historically  
accurate setting.  Sorta like writing about Al (Einstein) and Kurt  
(Godel) having a chat and its expanding into a deep discussion  
including many other famous scientists.

I loved it.
