With the latest release of Processing.org's tools, its now "safer" to use processing with eclipse, including use of Java 1.5, rather than the standard 1.4 used within Processing's excellent IDE.
I'll guide us through a study of this. A fairly simple Processing applet was created for this: http://backspaces.net/models/RoadGrid/applet/ - We'll look at the Processing code within its IDE - We'll show how an applet is made within the IDE - We'll then grab the .java file and look at it within eclipse - Finally, we'll show what it looks like updated to 1.5 This shouldn't take more than 1/2 hr, so lets meet at Redfish at 12:30, have the talk, then go over to Tesoro or Dominics for lunch and chat. Newcomers: Redfish is at 624 Agua Fria Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501 http://redfish.com/contact.htm BTW: This is all part of a somewhat larger context: can we use Jython, Groovy, or JRuby to directly build Processing projects. More on that tomorrow. -- Owen Owen Densmore 505-988-3787 http://backspaces.net Redfish Group: 505-995-0206 http://redfish.com http://friam.org/ ============================================================ FRIAM Applied Complexity Group listserv Meets Fridays 9a-11:30 at cafe at St. John's College lectures, archives, unsubscribe, maps at http://www.friam.org
