Hello there, TEDTalks listener. It's Chris Anderson, TED's
Curator here. A quick note to let you know that we've just opened
registration for next year's TED and we welcome new members.
Here are the quick bullet points.
- TED2008 will take place as usual in Monterey, California
- Dates: February 27-March 1, 2008
- Theme: "The Big Questions" (details

- There will be around fifty 18-minute talks plus a couple dozen shorter
talks and performances...
..in the company of 1000 of the world's most interesting and influential
people
To come, you would need to sign up for a TED Conference Membership. I'm
afraid it's prohibitively expensive for many people ($6,000). But the good
news is that the money we raise at the conference will be used to finance
our plans to make this content available free to the world. We plan to put
all of the best talks up online in the months following TED. (In fact, the
first talks from TED2007 should be up the week after the conference, round
about March 15th.)

Use Option 2. In order to be considered, we'll need your details right away.
Any applications received after February 14th will almost certainly be too
late. This year's conference sold out a full year ahead of time, and demand
seems to be even higher for 2008.
(We do have a small number of places for reduced price memberships and
fellowships. These will be awarded in September, but are reserved for
individuals of unique talent who couldn't otherwise afford to come to TED.
