30% annual USA wind power growth gives 15.9 million USA homes in 9 years, 1,800 million homes in 18 years...: Rich Murray 2008.06.16
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/environment/2008-01-17-wind_N.htm U.S. wind power grew 45% in 2007, the sharpest rise since the 1980s, as developers responded to a federal tax credit, a growing number of state renewable energy mandates and global warming concerns, the American Wind Energy Association said Thursday. The industry installed 5,244 megawatts in 2007, accounting for 30% of all new electricity-generating capacity, the AWEA says. That's more than double the largest amount ever added and enough to power 1.5 million homes, says AWEA Executive Director Randall Swisher. U.S. wind power had been annually growing an average 30% the previous five years, he says. 30% annual growth leads to 10.6 fold growth in 9 years = 15.9 million USA homes, 112 fold total growth in 9 more years = 1,800 million USA homes -- all USA energy, including factories, agriculture, businesses, cars, trains, ships, planes, space access, water desalination... With huge drops in cost with mass production, elimination of air pollution, radical improvements in wind and solar units, battery and flywheel energy storage, elimination of many diseases, substantial increases of human intelligence, along with fabulous increases in world computer power, widespread spiritual realization...!!!
