Three Steps to Savvy Voting
Beginning September 30 at 6:30 pm, you can learn what is really going
on in this fall's political races while supporting Santa Fe Complex.
In a three-part workshop and fundraiser, journalist and professor Tom
Johnson will show you how to get ready for that special Tuesday in
November by using the growing number of web-based tools available to
the serious journalism and the ordinary citizen.
* The Daily Tip Sheet (September 30, 6:30 pm):
Newspapers are a "morning line" tip sheet. There isn't enough room for
what you need to know.
* Swimming Against the Flow (October 7, 6:30 pm):
How to track data to their upstream sources.
* The Payoff (October 14, 6:30 pm): Yup, it IS about following the
money. But then what?
This is NOT a sit-and-take-it-in event. We're looking for folks who
want to do some beginning hands-on ("On-line hands-on", that is)
investigation of New Mexico politics. And that means homework
assignments and contributing to Tom's Three Tuesdays wiki.
Participants are also encouraged to bring a laptop if you can. Click
here to sign up or here for more details on the classes.
Robert Bassara's Symphony of the Solo String premieres at Santa Fe
Complex this Saturday night, September 27 beginning at 7:00 pm. This
one-night performance is a prologue to the Occam's Razor show, which
opens on October 18th.
Bassara, a world traveler, artist, and ethno-musicologist, will play
some of the simplest and most unusual instruments -- with exotic names
like ecktar, birembaud, winged thing, kyi tzi, jaws a phone, breathe
flute, bird flute and ker pe -- all collected, borrowed, modified,
invented, designed, handcrafted or fabricated from his travels. He
will be joined by several other musicians in concert as well as the
artists whose work will be displayed in the actual show. The concert
is free; a contribution of $5.00 is suggested. Click here for more
information.
Want to see what the simple's all about? Put October 18 on your
calendar to see what it means to the artists in Santa Fe Complex's
first juried show.
On Tap at the Complex
The first ever Santa Fe Chapter of Architecture for Humanity meeting
is on tap for Wednesday, October 1st at 6:00 pm at the complex. If you
are interested in design &/or building sustainable design, if you are
design professional and want to give back to your community, if you
enjoy helping people, if you appreciate good design, art, and
community, or enjoy learning about these topics, we want you. You need
not be an architect to participate.

Come Visit Us
Santa Fe Complex is located in the Railyard Art District within
walking distance of the hotels, restaurants and shops at the plaza
downtown. We're housed in two facilities, the project space at 624
Agua Fria and the work space at 632 Agua Fria.
The conference area contains meeting rooms and facilities for short-
term use associated with on-going sfComplex projects. The project
space houses the great room, where we hold events and offer Internet
access, working facilities, a coffee lounge and work carrels for
laptop users.
While there is parking at 624 Agua Fria, the Romero Street parking lot
is more conveniently located for the 632 facility. Romero St. is an
old-style Santa Fe ox-cart road just east of the 624 driveway. Follow
it until it opens up to two lanes and turn hard right into the parking
lot for 632.
Here's a map to our location, a representative shot showing the
Railyard District and a sketchup drawing of the facility at 632. For
more information, call 505/216.7562 or click here.
