Those definitions of Complexity are relatively recent, and suitably ambiguous as they should be for now.
I have a question though, the concept of a self organizing system has been around for years now, But when did a Self Organizing Principle enter the picture?. The Principle concept makes me feel so uncomfortable it feels to be a God Like concept. When I look at a pocket watch I ask what is the self organizing principle and simply think "What the hell has it got to do with a principle ! it's just a semi-stable mechanical system" If the watch maker is the Principal/Principle, is this not a ruse to look for gods again? Do we need "Steenkinng Principles ?" excuse my adaptation from the famous discussion about the merits of Badges.
