One thing I did discover about tmobile's plans is that they have a rather nice 
stunt for data: you can get xx GB/month, which then fails over to a lesser 
bandwidth rather than charging you more.  I really don't use the data feature a 
lot, but it is a life saver when you really need it.  And naturally GSM is nice 
if you travel.
