Just came back from the European Conference on Complex Systems in Vienna http://www.eccs2011.eu
An interesting conference (too bad it interfered somewhat with a grant application deadline) , with lots of SFI(former)LANL faces, including Murray Gell-Mann, Geoff West, Chris Barrett and Doyne Farmer. Doyne gave an interesting talk on the dynamics of innovation. Some of his work is in a PNAS paper in 2011 with Sid Redner and other people http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2011/05/12/1017298108 I suspect eventually some videos from the conference will be available here http://www.assystcomplexity.eu/video.jsp (as are the ones from previous two editions; for earlier editions go to videolectures.net).
