Dear all, or any,

Has anybody worked with both Wordprss and GoogleSites/groups? GS/GS is
very simple and good for many purposes, but not clear what it's spam
defenses are. I have used it only for private sites, for which it is pretty
damned good. No knowledge of HTML required. NONE. Almost, but not quite,
WYSIWYG. "filing cabinets" are good for storage of documents and you can
integrate it with a google group, with a little ingenuity. Navigation bar
is useful, so you can make any website appear as a page on a GS site. The
wordprocessor is pretty good, allowing fonts, etc. It allows different
levels of editing power for different pages. Word Press I have only
started to use. It appears a bit more nerdy. No obvious . repeat . OBVIOUS
way to get different fonts. You have to know codes, I think. It does have
a registration system, which I guess would deal with the spam problem, but
how do people get vetted for registration purposes?

The situation I am in calls for a site highly visible to the general public
but also a site which is serving to co-ordinate actions of a group of people
working together. So, I suppose we need to have "Authorities" control the
higher levels of the site and grant individuals the ability to create third
tier pages and below and control access to those in any way they see fit.
Anybody with experience with any or all of this stuff please share, on line
or off line.

Thanks,

Nick
