Not sure what is happening here -- related to Nick Thompson's saying he
would exit temporarily due to pressure from someone that he was being "too
insightful", and then he quotes an old quote of mine from August, 2011 and
talks of women and children and men being kidnapped.
First -- I think your discussions are very interesting. I admit I pay more
attention to comparisons and discussions of scientific theories apply to
human behavior, etc, than the discussions on how useful a certain software
package is. And I missed the religious discussion due to a stint of super
busy times, and wish I had seen more of that.
Second -- If the group, as a group, decides to move away from a topic, then
fine. This group is pretty clear when they want to drop a topic. But if one
person tells another to hush up, take it with strong caution. Is only one
opinion.
Do continue, is my thought on this! (And I am trying not to be kidnapped,
nor have my sons kidnapped -- let me know if it is imminent. If I am, I
will write you from some distant computer in some strange land asking for a
return ticket, but while there I will try to successfully modify whatever
their cultural thinking is in some way or another, so as to contribute to
emergent theory. ;-)) )
