This could mean Android inches closer to a more integrated platform, with unlock and standard UI. WSJ seems to get the point, that there is a triangle between handset makers, carriers, and OS providers. I hope this helps reduce the chaos and make it absolutely built-in that new versions of Android are distributed immediately, no fuss, no muss. But, to be clear: I don't think Google will make it without having their own networks, both broadband and cellular. Why not? -- Owen
