Its the old WYSINWIS. What you see is not what I see. Best is "plain text" .. then the receiver gets to choose the font. Google's odd small, normal, large huge font sizes are odd.
Here's a trick: Send an email to a friend and ask for a screenshot of what he/she sees lie below.
