As seems to be a theme with cryptocurrencies, I do not understand the details, but: some altcoin systems attempt to ensure that dedicated mining systems do not dominate the 'market', instead favouring CPU/GPU systems (how they ascertain what produced the hash, no clue). I wonder if they might be more useful for things like this? -Arlo James Barnes
