I'm not a google fanboy by any strech. However of the tools I was familliar with googls docs was the only one able to extract raw text from a corrupted DOC formated file.Thus remind me why i'm partial to the open standard and or open source tools i've been using- Amusingly the best tool for just my content? amusingly just good ol HTML- but only after I've written what all I need to. I've experimented with doing the composition side as draft in WordPress(for example) or as I said other online notepads as well. That's because my poor WinderZ rig is recovering from some elk of malware(a topic for a different ramble)-that said it amused me when I thought was done with analysis paper on my people play strategy game having pointed word to folder in drop box to save to- was up early to be wrong the file was bad- Tossed it gdocs, copied the contents, save it as text and while I'm not as pleased with the content (at least for my discening standards) Libre had no issue oppening save it as PDF and ODT on that end
