Dear Santa Fe Friammers,

Ting Internet’s director of networks Adam Eisner is in town, meeting with city
officials about a possible fiber build-out. My friend and former student, Sean
Moody, would like to bring him to Friam briefly for a handshake around 9.30.
The schedule is tight and it’s entirely possible they won’t make it, but it
would be nice if some of us were there early enough to meet him, in case it
happens. Sean hopes to include us because he wants Eisner to grasp that Santa
Fe is not like other places of its size and that Ting would be smart to invest
in a fiber network here. He thinks that a brief look at FRIAM might bolster
that point.

Hope to see some of you a bit early on Friday.

Nick

Thanks guys. I am going to try to stop by between 9:30 and 10 just to say hello
and introduce Ting Internet’s director of networks Adam Eisner to the group.
Unfortunately our schedule is crammed, so we will be en route between a 9AM
breakfast with the head of the Chamber of Commerce and a 10AM sit down with
Mayor Gonzales. But I want Adam to grasp that Santa Fe is not like other
places, and that Ting would be smart to invest in a fiber network here. You
fellows will prove my point.

That said, if our 9AM runs long we may not make it. Please know that I am am
sincerely appreciative for your openness nevertheless. In any event I will keep
you in the loop.

Thanks.

Sean

Nick's description of Friam is very accurate ( and clever ). If Ting sits
between Ed Angel and Nick I think that would be a good idea. It is unlikely
that the whole table could be coalesced into a single conversation after, say,
9:45.

Wow! It might be wild. So there we are all seated around that table. Half of

Ting is coming so they all stand up to great Ting. A chair is pulled in so
that Ting can join us. A cup of bad coffee is brought for Ting. So. What
happens next? Is it good for you and for santa fe, or not. That’s my only
criterion.

What do you think? I am cc ing Frank Wimberley, who is closest to the soul of
friam than anybody else, so he can join us in thinking about it.

Remember it is not a meeting in the ordinary sense. I generally get there
early to get a central chair, so one of the things that I do in these
situations is to get up, greet ting myself, and then give him my chair so he is
in the middle.

Subject: Ting in Santa Fe Friday

Nick, the director of networks for Ting Internet is coming to Santa Fe on
Friday to reconnoiter for a proprietary fiber-to-the-premise network build-out.
This is a very exciting prospect, one of the central goals of the city
broadband project.

We are meeting with the Mayor at 10 AM, lunching with some community leaders at
noon, and generally driving around to look at the different areas of town.

What do you think about a FRIAM cameo appearance? Good or bad, welcome or
unwelcome?

Thanks.

Sean
