This is local in Santa Fe (Arroyo Chamiso bike trail I think near Chavez center). Non-flash-flood sandy base is normally flat, about 2 pct grade maybe 4-5 feet below trail. What is the frequency and how does this occur? Why is this happening next to the path and not out in the middle of the arroyo? Solitons? Skipping stones? What? We live here; we should know this stuff.
