The oceans reach their lowest and highest temperatures, respectively, on March and September 1. So, The coldest day of the year in Massachusetts is on January 27th and, if I remember correctly, February is colder than December. The same is true of the UK. So we in NM should feel blessed by the rapid recovery of the temperatures after the Solstice. Weather Nerd
