On the side-table as I type is Abisko as well as Boundaries and Barriers by the same editors, and Groundswell edited by Neidhardt and Neidhardt and all born in the north of the Nordic lands. Merle has an essay in the latter and while the subject isn't identical, there are parallels. I'll be interested in hearing what you experience. I've only skimmed.
