Yeah, it makes sense the Gmail app on an Android phone would look similar to 
the Gmail web client. I use K9. So if you look at my reply to Dave's post with 
"View Source", you'll see the header:

  User-Agent: K-9 Mail for Android

Google has decided to buck the system and not use the User-Agent header. C'est 
la vie.
