Frank, Thanks for reminding me about Spivak's Differential Geometry series. They had all 7(?) in the St. John's library, but last year volume one disappeared. Thankfully, I found a pdf online <http://strangebeautiful.com/other-texts/spivak-intro-diff-geom-v1-3ed.pdf>. He mentions a text by my point-set topology professor, Dr. Vick, on page 3! Do you think St. John's will reimburse me $40 for my courtesy borrower card?
