Just found a interesting paper from Epstein et al. (the good Joshua Epstein,
not the bad Jeffrey Epstein) which investigates the dynamics of an epidemic
disease including the fear about the disease. It says "if we allow individuals
to recover from fear and return to circulation, the coupled dynamics become
quite rich, and can include multiple waves of
