Boomers, GenXers, and perhaps many Millenials wax on about how some song indexes their emotions in one way or another ... or the skill demonstrated by someone like Jack White or Eric Clapton ... or the math exhibited by Tool or Bach ... but Kids These Days seem to reference old video games when talking about their emotional indexing. A new side-scroller will come out and all the kids talk about is how it (fails to) make them feel like they did all the way back in 2017 when they played XYZ. One streamer has an entire discussion on how to choose DRM-free musical scores for your videos and streaming sessions ...
