Sorokin is an interesting person. He was the very first sociology professor at 
Harvard University in the 1930s - a bit like William James for psychology. I 
have borrowed his main work "Social and Cultural Dynamics" yesterday from the 
university library, together with "Political Order in Changing Societies" from 
Samuel Huntington - the book that Francis Fukuyama cites as his inspiration.-J.
