Yep. This is what I think makes subjects like film theory and its extensions like critical film theory so central to postmodernist philosophy (a'la Bergson and Peirce via Deleuze[1]). Even in Bergson's explicit philosophical work on duration, he leans quite a bit on cinema. A few years ago, there was a lecturer at St. John's (in in Santa Fe) that fleshed out a wonderful theory of time travel (via the film La Jetée) through the lens of Bergson. For years now, I have wanted to contribute my own piece to the analysis of that film, its conception of duration, fixation on a moment, and latent references to Euclid's second proposition[2].
