Did you know that Gilbert Ryle, the supervisor of Daniel Dennett, worked during 
WWII for MI8 ? MI8 was the signals department of the War Office (whereas MI6 
was the British counterpart of the CIA). Along with other Oxford professors 
like Hugh Trevor-Roper he tried to solve intelligence mysteries. Nikhil 
Krishnan describes it in his book "A terribly serious
