Very nice to hear you travelled from Durban to Cape Town! When was that—was it a vacation?
Regarding your question about my little hometown: unless you specifically wanted to visit it, you wouldn’t have passed through it on the route from Durban to Cape Town. Depending on which route you took, you may have passed through Mossel Bay—our “big town.” Then you’d need to turn off the main road a few kilometres after Mossel Bay (heading towards Cape Town). Then it's about 20 km from the turnoff. Interesting people? I wouldn’t go so far as to boast about that. There’s a local joke that all we need is a roof over the place and then we’d have a retirement home. Most people here are quite conservative—think MAGA-style, like in the US. But they’re my people and I love them. I just avoid talking about stuff like politics or religion with them. That is just too painful for me.
