I had an I/O problem on a machine where I was using AI the other day. Claude Code (an agentic mode) issued its usual kill-by-name commands in Linux. The processes failed to go away, presumably due to blocking system calls. It escalated to sudo. I would have done the same.
Core Wars was my first exposure too. I took an outreach class that was in Beaverton, a.k.a. Silicon Forest at Floating Point Systems. Really my first exposure to HPC. Data General and Prime minis IIRC. This group has managed to inspire me, keep my interest, for over a decade. In that time, I pushed myself to understand perspectives that I would never have dreamed existed.
