back in 2010, there was a small community at our Santa Fe Complex (632 Agua
Fria - now Susan's Liquor) exploring and performing with physical circuit
bending.

We had workshops teaching kids to take apart their low voltage electric
toys and hook up speakers to various parts of the circuits and then finding
controls to regulate voltage on their toys. And basic soldering skills to
make their "instruments" more permanent.

Jon, that could be a great weekend project with your son. And then show him
how you can simulate the basic circuits too. but nothing beats
empirical hacking and listening!
