I was taken aback by Scott's hyperbole about Piker. But, similar to Pink's reaction to Macklemore, we're all allowed to choose which wolf we feed. That post and this one: https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2026/Items/Oct21-2.html wherein they talk about the (authentic or calculated) interpretation of the riots in France, caused me to wonder why/when/how did we transition from fame due to competence in sedate consideration (e.g. Obama) versus fame due to hot take competence (e.g. Piker and Trump). I mean, to make my point at the pub, I have to argue that I'd vote for any Lawful Evil candidate over any Chaotic Good candidate ... in a heart beat. I remember when Biden's gaffes made him unelectable ... then, post Trump 1, he's suddenly electable? Two Chaotic characters, one Good, one Evil. ... Well, OK ... Biden wasn't really Chaotic except for his tendency to hot takes. He navigated the bureaucracy well for decades. Anyway, most of my friends render *considered* opinions. I'm the worst of them and always grateful they tolerate me. And I consider Scott and "Z" to be very similar to my friend group, not *in it* in some parasocial psychosis way ... merely similar to it. So WHY? why why why does Scott respond to the comments on posts like this? Just extrude the expressions you wanted to, then either allow the commenters to wallow in their filth *or* turn off comments entirely for that type of post. What perverse urge causes Scott to engage with those people? Now, in my own defense, I engage with such people at the pub, where immediate context engages their prefrontal cortex (unless they're drunk, which is surprisingly rare at the pubs I frequent). No anonymity. We'll all be at the pub together again soon. Or we'll see each other at the grocery store... or in the audience at the city council meeting. So best regulate one's expression. But on the internet? Stop, Scott. Just stop. Engage the nerds who like things like quantum computation and ignore the rest. .- .-.. .-.. / ..-. --- --- - . .-. ... / .- .-. . / .-- .-. --- -. --. / ... --- -- . / .- .-. . / ..- ... . ..-. ..- .-..
