After compiling fricas-1.0.3 on a G5 running Mac OS X 10.4.11 with clisp 2.46, the ptyopen call on line 633 of sman.c returns an empty ptsPath[] string, causing fork_Axiom() to fail with the error message "fork_Axiom: Failed to reopen server: No such file or directory". I can run fricas directly from the target/powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0/bin/ AXIOMsys executable after setting the AXIOM environment variable, so the problem is definitively in the c-code which is supposed to start it up. Suggestions anyone?
