Given you named your directory fricas-svn, I assume that you obtained the current development version with svn co https://fricas.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/fricas/trunk fricas-svn right? Did you then follow the "Step by step instructions for first time users" in the INSTALL file? What Lisp are you using? sbcl, clisp, ecl, gcl? Maybe you could also post the output of configure? I'm sure we can sort this out...
