Would you mind showing a little example that led to this problem?
I didn't yet have the need to increase the stack size. In fact, I don't
know. In my experience, "System error" happens because of either
compiler bug or a bug in the .spad program.

This is probably due to heavily nested or infinitely recursive
function
calls, or a tail call that SBCL cannot or has not optimized away.
