This is partially delibarate -- I planned such change but accidentally
commited part of the patch earlier than indended. No, it is not
language change. Actually, there is no change in Spad compiler at
all -- for long time in Spad only form that worked is '^'. In
1.1.5 interpreter no longer magically transforms '**' to '^'.
Note: if you badly want '**' back you can define it:
_*_*(x, y) == x ^ y
And this should make it clear that the only change is that
some functions that were defined in the past no longer are
defined.
