(should I do a pull request or do you monitor these changes?)

Maybe a pull request is fine. I want to get more familiar with that anyway. I usually don't monitor what you do, but rather wait on your message on fricas-devel.

Of course this duplication of documentation is not very desirable and
is often going to lead to this sort of problem. I don't think this is
the place to restart the debate about the documentation issues (I
guess we know each others views) but I do need the documentation in
HTML form, not least because this subject needs lots of pictures, but
also for many other reasons. If this code were included in hyperdoc
then that would add another level of duplication. I'm in favour of the
aims of literate programming but I just have these issues with the
mechanics of it. Sorry to go on about it.

Well, yes, I don't like much the many links in your pamphlet that refer back to your website. But as long as you have the same information somewhere in the source code repository, I don't care much.

Maybe you want to think about a documentation format that is readable as plain text and which can easily be used to generate html. I think here about Sphinx (http://sphinx.pocoo.org/). I also recently learnt about pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/), but I haven't used it so far.

The problem of documenting the code with minimal technical effort is still a problem.

What I like, is, that you seem to put quite some effort into the documentation business.

And sorry, if you often only hear critical statements from me. It's not meant to discourage you.

I could criticise quite a lot of .spad files in the algebra library. The rep/per business and non-specified types for implemented functions bothers me a lot. Some day, I'll probably go and add rep/per where it is missing, but first I need similar support in FriCAS as there is for rep/per in Aldor or OpenAxiom.
