That would not help fully, as if I try to run the failing graphics in
an efricas session
I get the same failure in the interpreter, that means the graphical
bits of FriCAS are
broken too, and rendered unusable (as I do not use FriCAS for graphics a lot
this is no hindrance for me, but maybe for others)
[Eg try  > draw(cos(x*y),x = -3..3,y = -3..3)]

 Indeed the generation process is annoying, but you do it usually rarely....

PS: I tried to use configure with --enable-debug, but it reports
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-debug

PPS: I tried to pass compiler flags to ./configure  (via command line
or via environment variables),
but the Makefile do still have the compiler option -O2 in it :-(
